La Ofrenda Festival: Gilroy’s Dia de Muertos Festival and Wellness Fair hasn't added a story.

Established in 2023, La Ofrenda Festival, Gilroy’s Annual Dia de Muertos Festival & Wellness Fair honors, celebrates and preserves Indigenous traditions, securing our cultural legacy in South County. Through our multi-generational celebration, we aim to bridge the gap between arts, culture and wellness.

  • La Gran Ofrenda — A large scale ofrenda (altar) conceptualized by a local artist and built in collaboration with local youth to be displayed as the main attraction on the Camino de Altares.

  • Camino de Ofrendas — A collection of altars, curated by the community, sponsored by local businesses and community organizations, lining 5th St. like you've never seen it before.

  • Calavera Bike Ride — A free community bike ride featuring our youth riders along Gilroy’s many bike-friendly paths

  • Arts, Culture, Wellness Fair — Diverse vendor fair featuring local artists, crafters, cultural partner and community wellness organizations

  • Live Music and Performances — Local and regional performers and musical talent keeping the heartbeat of the festival atmosphere

2023 marked the start of an amazing new legacy for South County.

  • 60 sponsors and community partners across public and private sectors
  • 80+ artists, vendors, and wellness organizations tabling across three city blocks
  • 8,000 festival attendees throughout the day in Downtown Gilroy
  • $34,000 paid out to South County artists, performers and creatives
  • $315,000 in essential income to artists, vendors, and local businesses in a single day
  • Founded Marigold Legacy Scholarship Fund, empowering first-gen, Latinx scholars pursuing the arts and education

NEW: A Festival and Beyond

Starting this summer, La Ofrenda Festival will produce year-round, family-friendly arts, culture, and wellness workshops in South County schools and throughout our community. Lookout for more information on our website coming soon.

In collaboration with health services, community wellness partners, and public agencies, we extend their outreach to residents of South County, promoting access to holistic well-being for all.

La Ofrenda Festival is a grantee of Gilroy Elevates the Arts, a program of SVCreates, with support from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the City of Gilroy, and the County of Santa Clara.

We are fiscally sponsored by Local Color, 501c3.
