The first ever Gridlock Festival has come to a close and we are now eager to start programming year two. We have put up this campaign as a method of sharing early bird pricing and merchandise sales to help us gauge how large we can program year two.

Gridlock Festival was founded November 2015 in Halifax, NS, Canada by two close friends, Matt McIntyre and Jeremy MacNeil. They had a desire to start an annual summer music festival in the downtown core, featuring exciting new music and comedy that is hard to find east of Montreal. The initial year was a success, seeing approximitely 1000 attendees per day over a three-day weekend.

Jeremy has 14 years experience as an independent music and comedy promoter in Atlantic Canada, and has over 10+ years experience working with large music festivals. He is also a small business owner and a senior technology consultant at a local firm.

Matt has worked as a musician, actor and production assistant on film, TV and voice over projects. He is also a bartender at Stillwell and has years of previous experience in the hospitality and liquor sales industry.

We have read through 300+ of your survey responses and will be taking all praise, criticism and comments into account when producing our second year. The earlier we are able to know an estimate of how many attendees we may have, the easier it is for us to commit to bring larger acts to town.

This project is a central place that we will use for all advance merchandise and early bird ticket sales for next year. Our dates for 2017 have been chosen, and they are August 25 - 27. As per your requests, music will be on Friday and Saturday, with two separate comedy shows on Sunday. This will ensure there are no bands and comedians overlapping. We are also working on having an all ages section for all three days of programming.
