Flying Start Advocates hasn't added a story.
Healthcare is becoming more complex, and wait times are longer, with severe staffing shortages, and health outcomes have gotten worse.
- Have you ever been confused about what was discussed at your medical appointment?
- Have you ever felt overwhelmed and uncertain of the next steps?
- Have you ever missed work to accompany a loved one to a healthcare appointment?
As a Registered Nurse I have seen too many clients and family members experience this . Click here to read one of the stories about why Flying Start Advocates started.
Flying Start Advocates is a Registered Nurse-run healthcare advocacy
company who is looking to help guide clients through their health
journey. We provide our service to clients through our ABCDs:
Advocacy, Balance, Clarity, and Documentation.
Let Flying Start Advocates work for clients by:
| A | B | C | D | Advocating virtually for clients during medical appointments. We help their voice be heard, and their questions get answered so that they feel confident and informed. | Balancing their lifestyle so they won’t have to worry about missed referrals or test results. Let us worry about the details. | Clarify their healthcare plans with their healthcare team or across healthcare specialties. | Document what was said and planned during their appointments in an online chart that they can access. In this way, they can accurately share their medical charts across healthcare teams or with their loved ones. |
Documentation can be especially helpful as many of us have aging parents who are struggling to update their children. And most people do not remember everything that was said. Or, like the telephone game, facts change when you try to recall them.
Through our service, we want clients to be able to take control of their health information and health journey. We want our clients to feel as though their voices are heard, their plans are understood, and their health is being advocated for.
Not understanding their health is a huge problem that costs clients time and money, and the healthcare system resources, time, and money.
- People don't know what the plan is for their diagnosis or testing
- What medications are they taking, and why
- Details about their diagnosis
- What tests do they need to complete, or why
Client compliance is a huge issue in the healthcare world, largely because clients don't understand. Our services are here to help clients and the healthcare system.
With this crowdfunding round, we will be able to help more individuals who need our services.
Your Wishes mean we can give individuals advocacy, balance, clarity, and documentation to those who are not able to afford it themselves. This round of funding will also allow us to market on a broader scale, so we can reach more individuals and help more people.
We hope you will join in on our mission to help clients thrive in their healthcare journey.

How are Services Work?
- You identify yourself or someone you know that would benefit from our services and sign up for our Initial Consultation.
- During our Initial Consultation, we will have a video call with the client to gather a complete history. The Registered Nurse will gather information about current and past diagnoses, medications, allergies, concerns, and upcoming appointments. During this appointment, we will review what we do, whom you want to be included in your health, and how you would like us to advocate for you at medical appointments.
- When you have a medical appointment, you go to our site and book an appointment with us simultaneously. This appointment could be with your family doctor, a specialist, a counsellor, or any medical professional.
- Once you are at your medical appointment, you will go to your appointment with us and join the video call. We will verify your identity and then continue with the appointment. As the healthcare provider and you converse, we will document the conversation. At the same time, as Registered Nurses, if we feel there needs to be clearer communication, clarifications, or if we feel something has been missed, we will step in and ask clarifying questions.
- After the appointment, we will finish and publish our documentation to you. This way, you can review it and share your appointment details accurately with your loved ones. If you have questions, you can book a follow-up with us, and we can clarify the documentation we completed.
- If your health has become more complex, we have a monthly subscription to prevent you from falling subject to healthcare's "Swiss Cheese" effect. If you were told you were getting a referral, blood work, or other tests, we ensure that these don’t fall through the holes of the swiss cheese. This is completed by us communicating with the healthcare providers and the system. Our goal is not to have referrals missed, and no news isn’t good news; no news is no news.
