at SOS el Arca Animal Rescue in Playa del Carmen, Mexico it is
where they can find regular food, and medical care, usually. We have hit a bump in the road and we are reaching out to you for help. Our cupboards are bare and our bank account is lean. Our animals in the shelter need you

About SOS el Arca Animal Shelter in Playa del Carmen Mexico The shelter, started in 2011, usually houses up to 200 dogs and cats at any time. They arrive from the streets in all kinds of conditions.
We do our best to treat them, rehabilitate and find homes for them. As a no-kill rescue, non-government agency, we rely on you, our supporters, who share our vision. SOS el Arca Animal Rescue gives ALL the animals in its care the chance to live healthy and happy lives. BUT, it is not paradise. It is not a home like your home. Until we can find that perfect place for each one, your ongoing support is crucial. Sylvie Goetz the founder says “The majority of animals we bring in are treated and find homes but some have been with us for years. Some are never adopted and never find their forever family, so they are with us for life.”

About Us
SOS el Arca Animal Rescue saves the lives of dogs and cats from the harsh realities of life on the streets of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
They come to us injured, mistreated, abused and abandoned. For most, the shelter is their last hope and we dedicate ourselves tirelessly to giving them the chance of a new life.
Since 2012, more than 35,000 dogs and cats have been rescued and rehabilitated, and for the vast majority, we find loving, forever homes. Those who do not stay with us, are cared for until their last breath.

🐾 Sweet little Ada arrived at the shelter suffering from malnutrition and a terrible skin condition called mange. Her skin was burnt from the blistering Caribbean sun. With the right medication, food and tender loving care, over time she recovered and found a second chance at life, adopted in Canada. ❤️
