Our goal is to give women the exposure, tools, funding, and mentorship needed to advance their concepts and build their careers. On March 10, 2019, Samya was one of 157 killed in the crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight 302. She was 24. And though her career had just begun, Samya had already established herself as an emerging leader in a growing network of young women in health and a fearless revolutionary in the fight for universal, affordable, and human-centered health. Samya’s dream for global health care was a system built by and for groups who have been historically marginalized and left behind.
To honor her dream and carry her legacy forward, Samya’s family and ThinkWell partnered to create the Samya Rose Stumo Memorial Fellowship for Global Health. The fellowship gives extraordinary young women like Samya the tools to push the same boundaries that she did.
