Lucky Dog Rescue, Inc hasn't added a story.
Lucky Dog Rescue is looking for help caring for a couple senior Dalmatians that we are sponsoring through their golden years. You can read about each dog in the next paragraphs.
Dottie was rescued by us and placed into a home about 7 years ago with a retired firefighter named Hal. He knew that Dottie had some behavior challenges after being abused by a child in her former home who would hit and kick her (she is now extremely anxious and fearful) but he was willing to give her a chance at a loving home when no one else would. Now, 7 years later, Hal needed help when he almost lost his home and thought he'd have to give Dottie back to us, but thanks to generous donors a few months ago, we were able to help Hal and Dottie keep their home and get through a financial crisis! Dottie is unfortunately now in chronic kidney failure (she is almost 11), needing ongoing vet care, and so our rescue is covering her vet bills for the rest of her life.
Dillon came to us over a year ago and has been in a foster home most of that time, but recently he has ended up back in a boarding kennel. We thought months back that Dillon was near the end of his life (losing mobility in hind end) but thanks to the great care he has been getting at our kennel partner (they take him out for potty breaks and walks multiple times a day), Dillon has shown that he is not ready to go yet! He has improved physically and is doing well now. We are looking for a new foster for him. He is great with other dogs and should be an easy dog to foster if you are able to take him out every few hours. If he lies down for too long he gets more stiff and has trouble getting up and walking, but with regular short walks and potty breaks, he does great. We are also fundraising for Dillon's ongoing vet care and boarding costs.
We SO appreciate your generosity over the years, it has allowed us to continue to save hundreds of Dalmatians over the years. Thank you so much!
