Due to the success of last years event, SJCBC has decided to make the erg challenge fundraiser an annual event! This year we are raising money for UNHCR, the Peter Wake Trust and the St John's Boat club fund.

Last year we rowed 500k in 40 hours, this year we row 500k+ in 12 hours! 4 ergs, 12 hours, one club. We would love to beat our fundraising effort from last year and raise £2000+ !

SJCBC has decided to support UNHCR and the Peter Wake Trust for its fundraiser this year. Part of the fundraising will also go towards the SJCBC fund.

UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) does incredible work worldwide giving aid to refugees in need. We thought it an amazing cause which we would like to support. More information can be found at #rowforrefugees

The Peter Wake Trust is a charitable trust for the care of Peter. Peter was SJCBC captain in 2006/07 before suffering terrible injuries. The new 1st VIII was recently named after Peter and we are honoured to support him in this way. More information at

The SJCBC fund exists to support the boat club through purchase of equipment. It is important we fundraise for this to keep the club going to enable us to row and compete to our full potential. The aim with the money raised this year will be to purchase a new coxbox and to refit many of our boats.
