Currently: 1.9 million homeless .6 million displaced.

On November 2, 2013 Category 5 Super Typhoon Haiyan made landfall on the Philippene with sustained winds at 196 mph / 315 kmh, making it the strongest Typhoon in history to make landfall.

This cyclone caused catastrophic destruction in the central Philippines, particularly on Samar Island and Leyte. According to UN officials, about 11 million people have been affected.

Families and children are in dire need of basic, essentail resources for living. They need help now. Children have lost families and are left to fend for themsleves. While aid is coming in from all over, the call for help cannot be louder. For the Filipino people, helping families find normalcy will take enormous effort and years of work.

I have partnered to raise funds for who I consider to to be the best in response for children's needs in times of catastrophe like this, Save The Children. Their work is unparalled with 89% of all proceeds going directly to those in need. But they need our support.
