More than nine million people have been affected in the Philippines by the typhoon.  Many are now struggling to survive without food, shelter or clean drinking water.  As the pictures of the damaged communities and desperate people are shared, I have watched, like many of you, feeling helpless, and wishing I could do more to help.  In the midst of so much chaos, one of my childhood friends Jon Jennings and his wife Sara, missionaries in Cebu, are tirelessly working to deliver rice and water to the surrounding villages.  With the help of generous friends in the states, they have collected 2410 bottles of water, 400 loaves of break, 113 bags of rice, 10,000 yards of tarp, and many other supplies that just keep pouring in by the grace of God.

I've known Jon for 30 years, so when he asked for my help to distribute the relief aid, I didn't take the request lightly.  I believe in helping a brother when he needs a hand, and I want to help carry this overwhelming burden of providing for so many around them.  So after much prayer and consideration, I decided to go.  I leave this Thursday for Cebu and I'd greatly appreciate your prayers.  If any of my friends think you could help me defray some of the travel cost, I would appreciate that too.
