Go The Extra Mile In Support of Children in The Himalayas Gaining a Formal Education!

In Nepal, the impact of just $5 is profound! It sends a child to school for a day, providing them with essentials such as clothing, food, housing, counselling, and education. This small amount has the power to transform a child's life! Walking long distances is normal for children in Nepal, but for us in Canada, it's an opportunity to go The Extra Mile: doing something we may not typically do, to demonstrate our unwavering support.

Team up with us on Sunday, June 9th at Vedder Park, Chilliwack for Himalayan Life’s annual event, The Extra Mile! This event is a peer-to-peer fundraiser where we ask YOU to cycle with us in solidarity with the families in the Himalayas who make significant sacrifices to ensure their children can attend school. Both Himalayan Life Founders, Daniel and Karina Burgi will be sharing stories of transformation from Nepal and give updates from the Himalayan Life Programs!

Here are 3 ways YOU can go The Extra Mile:

1. Sign up to cycle with us around Vedder Rotary Trail. Join in on the peer-to-peer fundraising and get your family or friends to participate!

2. Support a family member or friend as they go The Extra Mile by donating to their participation or spreading the word of their involvement in the event.

3. Make a donation! All funds will go directly to supporting a child in the Himalayas. Head to our website to make a contribution - https://himalayanlife.com/give/

DAY OF DETAILS

Date & Time: Sunday, June 9th from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Starting Location: Vedder Park (please refer to the map below)

Activity Details: We will be cycling loops around the Vedder Rotary Trail, with every loop being 20km.

Distance: Daniel and Karina are committing to cycling 200km!
* Daniel and Karina will begin a new loop at Vedder Park every hour, providing the opportunity for YOU to join in at any time for as many loops as you'd like!

Mid Ride: From 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, Daniel will share stories of his recent travels to Nepal.

Please be sure to bring your own water and snacks for the bike ride!
