Bahamas Engineering and Technology Advancement hasn't added a story.
Who We Are
Hi! We are BETA Camp, an extremely passionate group of young
engineers who run a summer engineering camp for students in grades
7-9. We're dedicated to all things STEM and strongly believe in the
value of community mindedness and youth development.
Our Cause
This year the Bahamas faced the worst Hurricane to ever make landfall
on two (2) of our Northern Islands, Abaco and Grand Bahama. Many of
the students who participate in our annual BETA Camp have been
displaced. They and their families have lost everything due to the
havoc of Hurricane Dorian. Entire towns have been flattened and none
of us could have imagined that the storm would stall for more than 24
hours exacerbating the impact and damage.
The amount of loss is
unfathomable and so we as an organization would like to provide a
sense of hope that there is life after loss. Therefore, with the help
of people like you we believe that our efforts can work hand in hand
to help students like Tianna Bootle, Thomas Lockhart, Daniel Brown,
Sabrina Brown and Mariana Pinder amongst others of both Abaco and
Grand Bahama return to a sense of normalcy with the rebuilding process
as they return to school.
What will donations be used for?
The leaders of the BETA team have organized this campaign to assist
our students with getting back to school by purchasing all supplies
needed including, uniforms, food for the entire semester and all
school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, folders, pens,
calculators and even a laptop for each student displaced by this
tragedy. We are hoping that we can play some small role in helping our
students and their families.
We thank you in advance for your generosity as we each give to help
those who have survived this horrific storm.
