Ann LaBelle hasn't added a story.
As most of you know, Mystic was very naughty last week. Somehow she got up onto a shelf and pulled down a 96 inch sheer curtain panel and decided it would make a great snack.....she ate the whole thing and didn't leave not even a scrap for us to know what she did.
A few days later, she pooped out what we thought was a dryer sheet. We called the vet to make sure that she wouldn't get sick from ingesting it and thankfully the answer was no. We were relieved but still keeping an eye on her. The following day Mystic pooped out what looked like another dryer sheet....one we could understand us missing, but two...no way. We brought her inside where she proceeded to vomit up quite a bit of material from her system. In order for it to be dryer sheets she would have had to have eaten a whole box full with what came out and up from her....impossible since they are stored in a closed cabinet above the washer/dryer. Now we were stumped.
We wracked our brains as we checked her bedding and room for anything that looked remotely close to what she was vomiting. Then it hit us...Mystic had somehow gotten up on a shelf (a task we thought impossible with her back legs) and taken down a sheer curtain panel that was folded on the shelf. Since we cleared out her snacking choices in the play yard, we guess she searched out new areas to fulfill her needs.
We have been in contact with our vet several times through this to make sure Mystic is ok. Mystic is alert, eating and acting normal...though she is still pooping pieces of the curtain. Some pieces are passing easily, some are not and we've had to help her (pooping is hard for her on a good day with the nerve damage done from breeding, this has made some of it a bit more difficult). She has had some concerning poop, some black (indicating some kind of internal bleeding) some loose with lots of mucus. We have been loading her with pumpkin to help things move along but....
We are a bit concerned. We have her going in first thing tomorrow morning to see Dr. T so Mystic can get an exam and some x-rays to make sure that she isn't having any internal issues due to her snacking choice. Though she is acting normal, we are a little concerned she may have an issue in her tummy (also she hasn't passed nearly enough material to account for the 96 inches she ingested) The x-rays will let us know if there is a problem and also how much is left in her system that we need to watch for.
While she is there we will also be getting the two concerning lumps biopsied to go out to the lab. One that started off small a few months back is now double it's original size and the location behind her ear is worrisome. The the one is in her mammary, we've been watching this one closely since just after she lost her last teat....she may have to lose another due to her horrific life as a baby maker before coming to us. Both biopsies will be sent out and we should have the results by the beginning of next week.
Mystic (aka #TrashPanda #SnotMonster) could really use your support right now. This poor girl never catches a break...and never gives us one either with her snacking choices! Can you help an old lady out?
