UPDATE: Thank you to all of your generous support, our Duke met with Dr. Knowles today. While the diagnostics cost more than we had anticipated, we were able to cover them thank you to so many amazing supporters.

He got his MRI, along with other testing, and we finally have some answers. Duke’s leg issues are being caused by a cyst on his spine as a result of a birth defect. The issue is fixable, but will take a $5,000 surgery.

Lucky  Dog Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit based out of Phoenix, Arizona. We are an all-volunteer foster based rescue, and we focus on providing the best homes for dogs in need. Some of our dogs are owner surrender, while others we help from county shelters locally and nationally.

Little Duke is a two year-old terrier mix who came to us recently. After spending some time in his foster home, it became clear that he was having trouble with his hind end, and back legs. We took him to our vet, Kaibab Animal Hospital, and they determined that the next step in his care is to get an MRI as we have been unable to discover whether his issues are caused by neurological or spinal issues. With this procedure, we will be able to care for this little guy in the best way possible, and have a much bigger picture what may be causing his issues.  We are determined to do everything we can to try to prevent this from causing permanent effects, and a complete loss of rear leg use.

This is why we need your help! The diagnostic procedure will cost around $1,000, and is so badly needed to ensure that this guy has a great long life ahead of him. Can you help us?
