Drivers Cooperative - Colorado, LCA hasn't added a story.
The Drivers Cooperative - Colorado is more than a company; it's a story of change. It’s Ahmed’s story, an immigrant from Morocco who almost cried when he completed the first ride with the coop he had helped build from the ground up. It’s Mohammed’s story, a Sudanese native, who recruited drivers for two years hoping to create better opportunities for fellow drivers. It’s the story of over 500 member-owners, diverse individuals from all corners of the globe, all now calling Colorado home, all united to achieve what they deserve—better pay, dignity, and a say in their work. This isn’t just a rideshare company; it’s a movement built everyday by real people, for real people.
We are looking to raise $30,000 to mitigate/cover our technology costs and your support will make it happen!
Every month, we incur $8,500 in expenses to keep our app running—a significant cost for a new, community-led company like ours.
Your tax-deductible contribution will directly help us cover 3.5 months of tech expenses , easing our financial burden and allowing us to focus on growing our cooperative. By reducing overhead, we can put more funds into empowering our drivers - building a sustainable, driver-owned rideshare alternative.

OUR STORY:
The Drivers Cooperative Colorado is the first ridesharing cooperative in the U.S. and the largest platform cooperative in Colorado. We proudly serve riders across Colorado, delivering affordable and reliable pre-scheduled and on-demand transportation to everyday commuters and underserved communities through our Co-op Colorado and Co-op Driver apps.
Our mission is simple: we are here to support drivers with higher wages and marginalized communities with affordable transportation solutions. And we need your support to keep our mission moving forward.
Let's Take a Look Back...
The story of the Drivers Cooperative - Colorado began in 2022, with a spark of hope and determination. At the Denver International Airport, the first drivers gathered—dreamers with a shared vision of launching Colorado’s first driver-owned ridesharing cooperative. In the face of industry challenges, these drivers held fast to the belief that better working conditions, fair pay, and dignity on the job were not just distant dreams but attainable goals.
With support from the Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center (RMEOC)—a cooperative development 501c3 nonprofit that has incubated the coop from day one and now serves as our fiscal sponsor, allowing for tax-deductible donations—our organizing efforts gained momentum over the past two years. Hundreds of drivers joined the movement to transform the industry, riders began discovering our platform, and the community rallied behind our mission for a fairer, driver-owned future.
And Now?
Today, that vision is a reality. DCC is more than just a transportation service; it’s a movement to reclaim the future of ridesharing—putting drivers and communities first. Together, we are driving change and paving the way for a more just and equitable economy.
Since our apps launched on September 25, 2024 , 4,000 drivers and 10,000 riders have already downloaded our Co-op Colorado and Co-op Driver apps. At Drivers Cooperative Colorado (DCC), we put people over profits—drivers over shareholders. We offer a platform where drivers are not just workers but owners , earning higher wages, better working conditions, and a stake in the future they are helping build.
WHAT DO WE NEED FUNDING FOR?
Launching and maintaining the largest platform cooperative in Colorado comes with significant costs. From app development and maintenance to driver outreach, operations, and customer support, building a sustainable, driver-owned ridesharing service requires ongoing resources.
Over the years, we have raised over $500k to start our business through the support of our incubator, RMEOC, and our funders.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
Small actions make a big difference, and supporting DCC in any way that you can– such as:
-
downloading the Co-op Colorado app and choosing us as your
preferred transportation provider,
- Download Co-op Colorado: App Store | Play Store
- talking about us with friends, families, and digital networks, or
- Sharing this campaign with your network
means changing the lives of hundreds of drivers in Colorado and giving back to your community. Each ride is a step toward building a future where drivers own the platform they work on, retain the majority of their earnings, and have a real voice in shaping the industry. Together, we’re not just providing rides—we’re rewriting the rules of ridesharing to serve both drivers and riders fairly.
