Hi everyone,

As some of you know, I'm currently in the Philippines, on an small island north of Cebu, called Malapascua, trying to do a little bit to help, after the destruction of super typhoon Yolanda. The typhoon hit the island with maximum force in November 2013, leaving only 2 residential homes standing.

I'm working for an organisation called 'Rebuild Malapascua' who, since the typhoon have:

- Distributed relief goods to local residents

- Supplied building materials to rebuild 138 locals homes

- Set up a feeding programme for local kids, and to provide pre-natal care to expectant mothers

- Organised medical missions to provide aid and care to local residents

- Have set up, and are looking to set up more livelihood programmes to provide locals with long term, sustainable employment

Despite the great work of the project, there are still very real problems here; Poverty, malnutrition, and any number of health problems.  The next big project the rebuild team are undertaking is funding, planning, and building a medical centre on the island. This will make a huge difference to the lives of local resisents, who, at the moment have to go to the mainland if they get really sick. Unfortuantely, by this point, it's often too late. Hearbreaking, when proper medical care on the island could possibly save a young childs life.

I've set this page up to try and raise some further funds to go towards this great cause.

If you can spare some of your hard earned, please donate. I promise you, it will make a real difference to the people on the island.
