We, the members of the Editorial Board of Voices Against Torture (VAT) - a new research organ of the Vancouver Association for Survivors of Torture (VAST) - are gravely concerned over the worsening state of torture in many parts of the world.
The world is in desperate need of evidence-based
interventions, trauma-informed policy making, and further advocacy for
human rights. In addition to the VAT Journal, we plan to hold
international and regional workshops to support the global fight
against torture.
VAST is contributing $7,500 of our own funds to kick-start VAT,
but we need your help to maximize our impact. Your financial
assistance will help ensure the successful launch of our first
publication in Spring 2021, specifically to cover the costs of
designing, printing, editing, and distributing the 1st
edition. Please consider supporting VAT in our mission to
create trauma-informed research and policy. With your help, we can get
closer to eliminating torture worldwide.
