Mission Paws'ible hasn't added a story.
To my fam, friends and fellow dog lovers, I celebrate my 30th
birthday on March 15th... but hold the dinners and champagne (and
possible pressies) this time around.
To mark my entrance into the big girl world,
I'm seeking to raise $1k for Mission Pawsible
, the charity I now do volunteer work for here in Bali,
rescuing, fostering and rehoming Bali dogs.
My first two puppies Bug & Boo (above) found me from the drain they were dumped in, outside my first Bali villa. They opened my eyes and heart to the often horrific struggles of having no voice on this planet and paved the way for the string of rescue + rehomes that followed. I anticipated ample dog naps and cuddles, but not the daily 4am wake ups, a dog bite (rabies shots aren't fun kids) and losing one along the way (to distemper virus, RIP Budi).
This led to me becoming involved with Mission Pawsible who believe every rescue mission is possible . This organisation and the people behind it never cease to amaze me - they take on the hard and seemingly impossible rescues and rehabiliations, without any of the glory. They are who so many on the island turn to - tourists and locals alike. They are absolutely overloaded, but make resources stretch so very very far.
Maggie (below) was found near dead in the corner of a furniture store. She couldn't even lift her head to eat or drink. Now she is loving life, playing with her foster friends and learning how to trust again.
Hero (below) is an ex-fighting dog found in dumped in a sewer in the hopes he would drown. He was then found, taken out and tied to a tree and left again. He is partly blind and has a hind leg deformity and is now happily rehomed and has been rehabilitated to trust after his dog-fighting experiences.
Lewis (below) my current foster had his rescue, amputation and rehabilitation funded for by Mission Pawsible. He was found cowering in the gutter in pouring rain with a broken leg set in an unusable and painful way and also malnourished with severe skin conditions.
ABOUT MISSION PAWSIBLE:
'We help many animals on the ground with rescue, rehabilitation
and re-homing plus we share the love by distributing donated food,
medicine and financial assistance to trusted individuals who
dedicate time to help the homeless.
Their mission is to support, educate, inspire and activate
individuals to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals in need and
to, ultimately, stop the suffering, lower euthanasia rates, reduce
the dumping and put puppy mills and backyard breeders out of business'.
Please help me raise $1000. I'd love to answer any questions you
may have. Whether you're in Australia or Bali, if you have any
questions about becoming a doggo or cat foster parent, let me know!
Thank-you so much. Every little bit counts. :)
Love Geo x
