Some family members would like to donate money to this fund, that is in honour of our Grandmother Margaret Griffin. The money will purchase a small memorial stone. If we raise sufficient funds it will be used for the upkeep of the graves.

Margaret Griffin was born in Dublin Ireland, she had a hard life especially when our mother Esther Hackett was born in 1904.  As Margaret's 7 Grandchildren were born, she became the main carer for us because our mother had to work.  She was a person of great strength of character, patience and had the ability to love all 7 of her Grandchildren equally. Her qualities have been handed down through the generations and we see those qualities in this wonderful family.

When Margaret Griffin died in 1953, it was a very difficult time financially for us as a family. Sadly, she was laid to rest in an unmarked grave in Mortlake cemetary, West London.

Over the years we have always longed to mark the grave with a modest plaque.  The opportunity has arisen now because we have eventually found the grave.

Most of the family have shown an interest in wanting to contribute to this fund.  This is why we have set it up.

Any contribution would be most welcome not for any other reason than allowing all who want to contribute to have a part in honoring this wonderful woman's life.
