Joshua’s dad, Alastair Thurley, passed away on March 13 at the age of 52. As a result of Alastair’s untimely passing, the hardships that Joshua has endured over the past 11 years will no doubt become even more so. Please help.

Joshua Thurley and his sister Melissa were born on March 11, 2004 at 26 weeks gestation.  He was a mere 1½ pounds.  Melissa survived for only 11 hours however Joshua, the stronger and more developed of the twins survived spent 4 months in the neonatal intensive care unit.  Since leaving the hospital Joshua has endured multiple surgeries and procedures and requires on-going specialized care and equipment.

Joshua’s dad, Alastair Thurley, passed away on March 13, 2015 at the age of 52.  He had been fighting a lung condition that required a lung transplant; tragically the lung transplant that he so desperately needed to save his life did not come in time.

As a result of Alastair’s untimely passing, the hardships that Joshua has endured over the past 11 years will no doubt become even more so.  Diagnosed with cerebral palsy and significant developmental delays (amongst other conditions) Joshua will need continued support and will require adaptive devices that are not covered by government programs.  Consequently Alastair’s premature passing will have a significant impact on Joshua’s future.  It is for that reason we are asking for contributions to lesson the impact and provide Joshua with the care and apparatus that he will need in the future to have the best quality of life possible.

You can make a big difference in this young boy's life. Please contribute.
