Each year, we award **50 scholarships and internships** to help aspiring comedians break free
from financial constraints and unleash their creativity.
Starting this Giving Tuesday and running through December 31st, we are calling on you to join this uprising
and help fund the **first 10 scholarships and internships of 2025**
(but we're also aiming high—we want to hit **20 scholarships** if we can!)
Your support can empower the new wave of fearless performers ready to challenge norms
and bring their unique voices to the stage!

ColdTowne Theater has been the beating heart of Austin's alternative comedy scene since 2006, showcasing the most hilarious and boundary-pushing comedians Central Texas has to offer.
ColdTowne called Airport Blvd home for 15 years before the pandemic shut down operations. Since reopening on the East Side of Austin in 2022, ColdTowne continues to push the boundaries of what comedy can be - winning dozens of B. Iden Payne Awards for socially conscious improvised troupes and shows skewering the Wealth Gap, The Prison Industrial Complex, White Supremacy and Gender Discrimination, Repressive Reproductive Laws - through our unique brand of improv, sketch and stand up comedy that provides an antidote to some of that toxic-bro culture bubbling up in Austin.
ColdTowne’s success stories are many. Launching the careers of comedians performing on and writing for What We Do in the Shadows, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Southside, Comedy Central Presents, Hitman, Rooster Teeth, Saturday Night Live and many many others, including several winners of The Funniest Person in Austin Contest.
Since then, ColdTowne has been the launchpad for countless comedic careers, the birthplace of groundbreaking shows, and a haven for anyone who believes laughter is the best form of rebellion. We've been keeping Austin weird, one punchline at a time!
