For over 12 years, Dr. Clarens Descorias has selflessly served communities in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti, offering medical care, compassion, and hope to those who need it most.

💍 A New Chapter Begins

On January 24, Dr. Descorias will marry Merline Pierre, a remarkable young woman from Wanament. Merline is the only one in her family to attend university, studying to become a licensed nurse at IPVA Fort Liberté, in Haiti where she will graduate next year.

Their love story began in Fort Liberté, when Merline brought her youngest brother to the clinic where Dr. Descorias was volunteering. Tragically, her brother was diagnosed with syphilis and later passed away. Despite this heartbreak, Merline has continued her studies with strength and determination.

Dr. Descorias and Merline are starting their life together, and we want to bless them with a safe, stable home in Haiti—a place where they can continue serving others while building a future and family of their own.

He was recently baptized and, through the church's humanitarian services, he is also serving and helping the poor in the community.  He is already serving in leadership positions in his branch of the church.  

We appreciate Dr. Descorias’s years of service and would be delighted to help him by providing a home to call his own. It will be on the land that Dominican Starfish Foundation purchased and right next to the clinic we hope to build for him in the future.
