Jennifer Testa-Fulton hasn't added a story.
On October 17, 2013, Kenny Ray suffered a head injury resulting in three brain bleeds and the removal of the right side of his skull. He was placed on a ventilator and feeding tube. His prognosis was poor and he was supposed to be a "vegetable"... never to open his eyes, talk or communicate, sit up, walk ever again. His body could not maintain its temperature, resulting in high fevers.
On November 2nd, Kenny opened his eyes and while visiting him. I asked if he wanted to write something, as he could not communicate because he was on the ventilator. The first thing he wrote to me was, "I love you Amore" then he wrote, "God said he is done with the small things". Then he wrote, "I'm okay". A few days later he started to respond by blinking his eyes and squeezing our hands with his right hand.
On November 3rd, Kenny's cultures came back positive for MRSA and his fever started spiking again.
On November 5, 2013, Kenny was transferred to another hospital to begin his rehab. Two weeks ago now, his ventilator and trach were able to be removed and the cultures revealed no more MRSA!!! No more fevers!!! His body is regulating his temperature now. One week ago, his feeding tube was removed. He is so happy to be able to eat food and drink liquids again!!! :-)
He is now verbalizing and holding conversations, writing and participating in physical therapy to the best of his ability. He still has contractures of the left hand and left leg. We are still believing God for a miracle!. Through many prayers and much encouragement, Kenny has been making progress that he was never supposed to make!
Kenny's diagnosis is: Traumatic Brain Injury
Although Kenny has come a long way, he still has so far to go. He requires 100% total assistance at this time. We are believing God for a complete miracle, and we are asking you to give what you can to help us help Kenny.
For those of you who know Kenny personally, he never asked for anything in his life. He always gave whatever he had, whether it was his time or finances to anyone in need. Now, it is our turn to give to him to help with his recovery.
Thank you in advance for giving what you can. I will continue to update the site with pictures and his progress.
