Jo Cadman hasn't added a story.
MISSION TO MELBOURNE is now on to help raise the needed funds to get Mitchell Cadman RALLY team to compete in the 2013 Rally Victoria, and to complete the win of the 2013 Australian National 4WD Rally series.
Central Coast rally duo John Mitchell and Jo Cadman became household names last year when competing in Rally Victoria, the last round of the 2012 Australian Rally Championship. Unfortunately, for the married pair, things didn't go quite to plan with a massive roll over down a 10 metre bank leaving the team behind the eight ball to repair the vehicle and being faced with a shortage of funds to compete in the 2013 National 4WD Rally Series.
However, it seemed the whole of Australia was capitvated by the incar footage of the crash, showing how such a team can deal with such a blow. The popular "sorry babe" comment had every newsreader comment on how to keep a marriage in tact, while the ever so calm attitude in the car gave the team the most prime time television coverage in their careers.
In doing so, the team managed to attract some support and pull together enough funds to compete in the first 2 of the 4 events in the 2013 National 4WD Rally series, with mixed results in Canberra but with an outstanding win in Queensland.
To hit the leader board and have a chance to secure the championship, the team had to compete in the next round at Rally Australia, Coffs Harbour - the most expensive event of all. The team ran out of funds, and with only 1 week before the event in a last ditch effort and for the first time ever, campaigned for assistance. The response was overwhelming, with the team not only being able to compete and secure payment of all expenses, but to bring it home with another incredible win. So much so, and to their surprise, the team belately found to have actually clinched the title as 2013 Australian National 4WD Series Champions.
As the team didn't know of the series win straight after the event, the team didn't get the chance to celebrate the series win together. And still with one more round to go - the 2013 Rally Victoria on November 15-16. The event that made the team famous, is back and is the last round of the 2013 Australian Rally Championship. As a tribute to the whole team and the incredible efforts of the year, the mission is on to get the team to this final round, show support for the National 4WD series and it's other competitors, secure the title win and celebrate the end of the year by being presented the National 4WD Rally Series Championship trophies. Hopefully, in a effort to get to Melbourne, any chance of being back on the tv will be as winners, not roll overs!
But, again, with some despair, the team is just short of being able to completely fund the event to compete in. The team needs your help, no matter how big or small, to get to Melbourne and finish the year on a high.
