Carol Ann Palmer
October 12, 1941 - February 1, 2026
Carol Ann Palmer, 84, passed away quietly in the early hours of February 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert (Barry) Palmer, with whom she shared a life of laughter and love. She was a devoted and caring mother to her son, Scott Palmer, and daughter-in-law Natasha; her daughter, Lisa Darling, and son-in-law Richard; and her three cherished grandchildren, Sydney and Avery Palmer, and Adam Darling, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Her family was the center of her world, and she gave her love in countless ways.
Carol will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and beautiful smile, and for the quiet warmth she brought into every room. She loved spending time at their home by the ocean in Sidney, BC, where she and Barry spent more than 40 years creating countless memories with family and friends at #9. It was her true happy place.
Carol also treasured her longtime friendships, which were full of laughter and endless good times. She also held close her extended family, Ann and Lalit Kamdar. She is remembered by her brother, Ken Knowles, her sister-in-law Kathy, and their families.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the University of Alberta Hospital for their compassion, care, and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University Hospital Foundation for neurological research in Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease in Carol's memory.
