CAMPO Garzon, Inc hasn't added a story.
In these uncertain times, we are certain that ART MATTERS. More than ever we need to CREATE COMMUNITY through CREATIVITY.
In the spirit of its mission, this year, CAMPO ARTFESTwill go GLOBAL + VIRTUAL, as well as on location in the tiny magical PUEBLO GARZON, URUGUAY.
-------------------------
![]() | ![]() |
Every year we invite 40+ international artists to take over Pueblo Garzon, a small village deep in gaucho country. Here they create installations and performances throughout the town’s landscape -- old ruins, the majestic train station, as well as in the countryside.
Even though we don’t know what the planet will look like on December 28th, we know that bringing together locals, artists, tourists, and kids in Uruguay with art lovers and visionaries around the world was what this CAMPO Artfest, our fourth annual festival should be about.
SO WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU – friends, new + old from Uruguay and around the globe -- to help us create it. The theme this year is BREAKING BORDERS. And the first border we will break is by producing a festival with countless hands and support from around the globe. Then you’ll have a chance to visit Uruguay online (or in person), travel without traveling, meet amazing artists and participate in engaging conversations through virtual programming for weeks before and throughout the festival.
---------------------
HOW IT WORKS / CÓMO FUNCIONA
We’ve invited 27 Uruguayan artists to make site-specific work in the pueblo and 27 international artists who will showcase online, whose works are inspired by the theme Breaking Borders. From December 1st – 27, every artist will have a chance to chat about their upcoming “installation” with a short virtual chat, a preview countdown to festival day on the 28th, streaming online from Pueblo Garzon and website portals to the international artists’ works.
