My name is Janet and I'm 36. My mom had a stroke in July of 2011 and has never recovered from it. She's bedridden and we've got one vehicle between us which is a Buick Lucerne and taking her to the doctor takes 2 people which is my dad and I and I land up doing the heavy lifting from getting her into her wheelchair, into the car, and back into the wheelchair. It takes me days to recover from lifting her because it's like dead lifting 129 lbs of a person. I figure that $5000 is a down payment on a vehicle. I know it's alot but any bit will help. Like i stated above, my mom had a stroke but I'm her primary caregiver. I get no breaks from taking care of her and not having my own vehicle means I've to rely on my dad even if I just wanted to go to the store for 10 mins to get out of the house. I'm pretty much stuck in the house all week until we go to the store on the weekends. I can't work due to the fact that's there no one else that can take care of her 24/7 and on top of all this, I've got a pinched nerve in my neck and it's getting worse. I'm starting to hear my neck crunching sometimes. In closing, any bit of money will help to get me a vehicle or going to the doctor so I can do more for my mom and various other things she might need.
