Nikki Michaella needs some help financially to cover the costs of her care, as disability and insurance do not cover everything that she needs to survive… More ...

At only 32 year of age, Nikki has a plurality of medical illnesses and conditions which severely impact her daily quality of life. The most threatening to her at this time are her Addison’s Disease, a condition which means that stress can be literally fatal, and her Eating Disorder which she has had in some form or another since she was only 6 years old, presently Anorexia. In addition to these she also has a Prolactinoma (pituitary tumor) causing MEDICAL anorexia and destroying her sight, multiple GI issues, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, Atrial Fibulation, COPD, Basilar-type & Status migraines, PTSD, severe Insomnia, Asthma, & multiple organ failure among other medical conditions and trauma induced psychological issues. As a result she gets most of her intake via PEG, has a port, is steroid dependent, in a wheelchair & lives in a nursing home, all made harder by her grief over the hit and run death of her service dog Opie, which she witnessed from her wheelchair, unable to intervene.

Nikki came to AZ on 4/10/2012 to seek treatment at Remuda Ranch, but she was discharged after only 14 days, due to the severity of her non-ED medical and psychiatric needs, which they were unable to meet there. Since then, it has been a continuing struggle to find another ED treatment facility that will accept Nikki into their program. She has obtained an admission approval at Rosewood Ranch Centers, but her insurance company continues to deny her treatment there, preferring instead to shunt her around from one facility to another, which cannot treat her disorder, where she is often placed under additional stressors that complicate her Addison’s Disease.

Any funds gathered from this campaign will be used to pay Nikki’s share of her current nursing placement bills at Bella Vita Health & Rehabilitation Center nursing home, to pay any legal costs she may incur in the fight against her insurance company to get them to cover the lifesaving treatment that her they continually deny her, and God willing eventually to pay Nikki’s share of her treatment at Rosewood Ranch Centers.
