Samuel Wesley Samples is an 88 year old WW2 veteran who served in North Africa under George Patton... served on the Normandy beaches with amphibious support... and was in the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the war, he transported the prison war victims from the camps to hospitals.

Today, he is homeless. He is not looking for a handout, just some help. His hearts desire is to find subsidized housing to live the rest of his life in peace with a little independence as he is in full capacity of his faculties. He has been given the run around for the past year trying to fulfil this simple dream.

You can help.

Anything you can give, $1, $5, $500. Here is your chance to give to someone who gave it all in one of the greatest challenges this world has ever faced. He put his life on the line for us, he deserves for us to put a little of our own on the line also.

Last night (March 11) I found him on the road near my home sitting in his walker with his head down. My girlfriend and I had to stop and see if he needed help, me knowing of a potential storm that night and temperatures dropping. We took him to a hotel for the night with the thought of taking him to the VA hospital the next morning to see a social worker to get him some temporary help.  Unfortunately we were unable to get immediate help from the VA at this time. I put him up in a hotel again for tonight, but its too big for one person to take on.... help me help him get into his own place again, he has income from the VA and Social Security, but its difficult to come up the funds to get into decent housing.

My name is Shannon Wimberly, I am his only advocate at this time, join me in this fight for just a little peace and security for Samuel, he deserves to live the rest of his life in a way fitting of the sacrifices he already gave for our country.
