Hello All!

This is phase one of my campaign.

I'm doing a thing: I will be training for a Tri-Sprint and want you to donate so we can send someone to A-Camp.  Location of Tri-Sprint: TBD  When: TBD

What is A-Camp, you ask?  Well, sit down and get comfortable I will tell you a story.

A-Camp is well a camp (duh!) put on by is a site that features: News, entertainment, opinion, community and girl-on-girl culture. So, I think you know where I am going with this.  (go on!)

A-Camp is in the San Bernardino Mountains and it features: workshops, panels, classes, meet-ups, activities and performances.  I know I tell you this and you think, "That sounds great...but I don't get what makes it special?"

It's like camping with queers but not really camping, more like cabining with queers.  You get cabinmates with cool cabin names.

I don't know how to describe it so I will open a little part of me, for you, dear reader of this campaign.

As cheesy and a little cliche as this sounds.   A-Camp changed my life.  I'm pretty sure I found myself on that mountain.  I found the person who had been hiding for so long.

I decided to go to A-Camp for the October 2013 session.  Why? Well, I had come to this grand realization that I was pretty sure I was gay.  I had been trying to figure it out for months, like it was something concrete like a rubik's cube.  Am I gay? Am I not gay?

A-Camp showed me the way.  It introduced me to some really great individuals.  Meeting new people who had come from many different backgrounds but we were all able to join in and share, was the best.

I've felt like an outsider for a really long time.  That I didn't fit in. This was a place where maybe not right away, I finally was able to let go.  Let go of all my fears. It will be okay.

I want to raise money for some other individual who may be dealing with issues.  I want to give back because I feel like the luckiest individual to have so many supportive people.  All the people most important in my life had not had an issue with the whole gay thing.  Eveyone has told me they love me for being me.  Not everyone is this lucky.

I want to show community.  I want to do something really good in this world to prove that light overcomes darkness.  I want to give back because of the kindness people have showed me.

Donate as much as you can.  Every little bit counts.  If you can't go to A-Camp this year, give back for some other lucky person to go.

Or if you can't donate and want to help e-mail: or if you just want to drop me a line of motivation, or if you want to join me in training for this.    We can do it together.

Or do a thing, anything, let's just all give back and do awesome.

Once I raise $500 to send someone to camp.  Phase 2 begins with me fundraising for another LGBQTA organization (TBD) until I complete my triathlon sprint.
