Hope was abandoned with her sister Faith behind a gas station, then she was hit by a car. A concerned citizen called Animal Control and Hope remained there for several days before local volunteers discovered she was there and rushed her for surgery

Hope and her sister, Faith, were abandoned by a gas station at a busy intersection in Rowan County. Local volunteers tried for weeks to catch them but the girls were scared and timid. Last week, the volunteers went to check on them and discovered that Hope was missing! The clerks in a store nearby reported that she had been hit by a car and we thought Hope was dead  A few days later, we found out that Hope was not dead, she was at the Rowan County Animal Control facility and was badly injured. This facility does not have vet care funding so Hope had been there several days with a herniated diaphragm which caused some of her abdominal organs to relocate to her chest cavity. Hope is in critical care at the vet, she has already undergone one surgery and will need more for a dislocated hip and follow up care. Please help us help Hope!
PS: Thanks to a massive effort by a dedicated group of local volunteers, Hope's sister Faith was finally caught this weekend and is safe in foster. She is healthy but desperately searching for her sister. We pray they can be reunited soon!
