Jessica WIlliams hasn't added a story.
After riding around for a few minutes they were waiting to turn into their neighborhood and were rear ended by a 1999 Pathfinder doing at least 60miles an hr. The damage was severe and so were the injuries to all children. Matthew was knocked unconscious but managed to call his parents (Stacey and Matt) when he came too. Their parents rushed to get to the wreck. They were stopped by the numerous amount of vehicles backed up along the highway. With that, they ran down the side of the road to reach and aid their children. One having already been life flighted, the other being treated for injuries and their only daughter being pulled from the wreckage.
Having 1 child hurt in a wreck is tragic enough, but to have all 3 injured and 2 life flighted, is completely more than I can comprehend as a mother. I can only imagine what this family is going through.
Matthew and the driver are very lucky. Both having escaped major trauma, but still sustained broken ribs, fractured skulls and other injuries . Thankfully, Matthew is able to get around and support his other siblings during this time.
Brooke has broken ribs, collapsed lung, internal damage to organs, facial injuries requiring constructive surgery and eye surgery. She also has small fractures throughout her body and is looking at a long recovery period. This sweet girl should be starting high school, but will not be for at least several months.
Taylor, the youngest took the brunt of the accident. When the Pathfinder hit, the engine pushed him into the back of the drivers head. His entire face was crushed/shattered. He also sustained many broken bones from head to toe and numerous internal injuries. They had to remove parts of his skull to allow his brain to swell. He is in induced coma and also on a ventilator unable to breath on his own. This young man is fighting for his life.
Of course the parents are spending every moment by their children's side. They don't know what is going to happen from one day to the next day. All that is known is it will take months and months and months to heal, have all needed surgeries and just be able to bring their kids home. All of this doesn't include any permanent damage that is always a possibility.
Anything we can do to help this family with their expense burden is a wonderful gift for them. All that you donate will help this family put the pieces of their lives back together. Be a blessing for them today!
