Lexy Barnett is a high school basketball player from a small town, Cedartown, GA. She is currently a freshmen. She started the season as the Lady Bulldogs starting point guard on the varsity team, leading her team with her drive and dedication to the game. She has been passionate about basketball since age 5 when she started playing ball with the Christian Youth Organization UPWARD Basketball. After one season, the organizers asked how long she'd been playing, due to her veteran-like skill and abilities. When they discovered this is her first time ever playing, they suggested her playing for the recreation department/YMCA youth programs. She played with many number of teams, going to All-Star teams in every organization, and All-State with her All-Star YMCA team. She thought her dream would vanish when her family lost their home due to financial hardships. Her father, a US Army veteran honorably discharged with an injury, now suffering from a number of medical conditions that take money and time away from the family. Her mother being the only source of income, keeps her away from home 80% of the time. Her family ending up in Cedartown was a blessing in disquise. Her new middle school team had already started their season, and was already 3 games completed. But she didn't give up. She played ball during her PE time and one of the teachers approached her about playing basketball, and she was sent to the coach. She went to the next practice and after seeing her play was put immediately on their team as their lead player. We, her parents, need help to keep her dream of playing college and professional basketball alive. She earned a spot with the AAU Traveling Basketball organization on the Rome Georgia Lady Tarheels team. Our girl needs your help. All contributions would go to helping her with sponsorship on the team, travel cost, food and room expense. While our daughter fights to keep her dreams alive, we as her parents are struggling to make it happen, but we desperately need help. Here's your chance to help.
