My sister, Gayle (Szostak) Sellers was a champion, whether raising money for Polycysitic Kidney Disease research, supporting civil rights for all, or shepherding a winning high school girls bowling team to the state finals. She was a friend and more to all who knew her. Accepting of all. Two days ago she died unexpectedly, leaving behind a fabulous husband and two beautiful, talented daughters. The many things they will find absent in the future are obvious: the love and caring of a wife and mother, the advice and guidance only she could give, but also the practical loss, such as the income which would have provided for tuition and housing for Allison who is entering college this Fall, and for Jessica who is a mere two years behind her. They have lost enough when they lost their mom. They should not lose the opportunity for higher education as well. These are girls who will make a positive difference in the world in our future and for several generations. If they are anything like Gayle, and they are, you will want to empower them. While our family will do everything we can to help them, every little bit counts. So for those of you who knew and loved Gayle or her family, and would like to do what you can to help, please consider donating to this scholarship fund for my nieces. I'll make sure they toe the line so your money is well spent. That's what nosey-yet-scholarly uncles do, especially for their only sister who is no longer there to do the same. I thank you and my family thanks you for your love and kind consideration. Peace.
