Hi facebook Fam! On behalf of a former student of mines, I am seeking your help. She is an A/B student and currently a high school junior, being raised by a single parent. Her desire is to go to college. She is currently looking to visit some colleges by going on the college tour sponsored by one of the local churches here in CTon April 1 thru April 9. The trip cost $820, and I told her I would give her some money towards her deposit. I am asking on her behalf, if you could make a donation of at least $1 to $5 to support her through her education journey, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is something that I would NOT normally do, but this young lady and her mother hold a special place in my heart. So if you can help financially, Thanks a bunch. Your prayers are needed, also. IF you have any questions, please feel free to call or inbox me.
Please see an excerpt of the letter she wrote, " I am only a high school junior but I am at a point in life were I am thinking of about colleges I would like to attend. After doing my research and deciding where I would like to go I should be able to go and visit the schools on my list to see if I truly like the school or not. The schools I am thinking about attending are mostly Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCU's) none of which are in the state of Connecticut. My mother like most other single moms does not have the time to bring me to visit colleges in state much less out of state. I understand that she has to work to take care of me but I would like to visit schools out of state whether she takes me or not. Throughout my life my mother has taught me that god helps those who help themselves. I knew that she was not going to be able to take me so I decided to help myself by searching for a local black college tour. I was fortunate enough to find a church that does one every year. Union Baptist church has been doing black college tours for over twenty years now and luckily for me they go to all of the HBCU's on my list. Union Baptist held a meeting at their church on January 3rd, 2013 which I attended and I received a lot of information. The tour is going to be April 1st - 9th, 2013. I was extremely excited about the tour until I heard the price. I knew I was going to pay something because nothing in life is free but hearing that I have to pay $820 for the tour took away all the excitement that I built up. I knew that my mother could not afford to send me on this tour. Then I thought to myself that if I put my pride aside and reach out for help from adults that I built great relationships with or anyone that would like to help me that I would get it. I am certainly not looking for one person to give me $820 because I know for a fact that times are really hard for people. I would greatly appreciate if you can be so kind as to helping me out to pay for the tour. Even if you gave me $5 I would still be thankful to you for doing so because at least you lent me a helping hand when I was in need of one. Thank you for taking time out of your day and reading this I really appreciate it.
