Help support one of the most diverse and inclusive New York City footbal club. We need your help to continue offering scholarships & covering travel expenses to our players so they can keep playing this beautiful game. Just like NYC, our club is a ... More ...
Please meet the Downtown United Soccer Club (DUSC) located at Pier 40 in NYC. However, due to Superstorm Sandy the fields have been devastated and need to have major repairs. Our club helps shape the lives of developing young men with a focus on both athletic and character development. We know that they have the ability to grow into responsible and conscientious athletes, husbands and fathers. While requiring our boys to be quality young men now, they learn the lessons of great sportsmanship through Soccer and highly organized team play. We have also seen Soccer & Character Development be direct positive factors for many of our young athletes gaining entrance to private high schools and colleges usually in combination with financial scholarships.

The Downtown United Soccer Club - U14 White team includes a remarkable group of players from multiple New York City boroughs; the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. The team is a melting pot of cultures made up of many native New Yorkers and second-generation Americans that hail from Colombia, El Salvador, Ecuador, Dominican Republic and Argentina. Last year the team won the 8v8 New York State Championship and began playing 11v11 in the Eastern Development Program (EDP), which has become the newest addition to the organization’s National Premier Leagues. The team has won many high profile tournaments in the 2011-12 season such as: The Bethesda Thanksgiving Invitational, The Manhattan Soccer Club Kick-Off Classic, and The FC Delco’s Players Cup. After winning The Columbus Cup the team is currently ranked #1 in New York State and #11 in the Nation.

But all that came to a stop with Sandy! The boys like most sports teams in NYC are scrambling to find practice space and still prepare for the competitive tournaments that they have worked so hard to qualify for and bring home stories of hope to NYC areas in desperate need of good news. And with the reminder of the recent unthinkable loss in Connecticut we are determined to support these kids in every way possible.

This year our fundraising goal was to raise $50,000 to help this team of growing boys.
Even with the club‘s scholarship assistance to 40% of the families on our team, (covering 80% of the club fees) it does not cover expenses like tournament fees, airfare, hotel and meals where people need extra financial support.

We need your help! You can contribute with any level donations, or sponsor the team as a corporate sponsor! All donations are tax deductible. Corporate sponsors will have their Corporate Logos placed on our website, practice Jerseys, warm-up jackets and pants. Additional recognition could also include EZUP tents, chairs, and soccer balls. No matter the level, all contributors will be invited to a special practice event to see the boys practice and meet them face-to-face! The kids will be excited to know and shake the hands of those helping to make their dreams possible.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I know it’s not easy to give, but thank you for even reading this.
