The day before Easter Sunday I went out drinking with a friend. I don't usually drink, and was very drunk when I ended up at Denny's. I was a regular there, and so the staff was forgiving when I dropped a bottle of wine in the lobby. However, I was obviously having an "off night", cause when the Deputy Sheriff's came in to have breakfast I went up to them and started talking about a guy I went to high school with, who became a cop so he could shoot someone. One of the officers told me to leave or go to jail, and I left. I guess the officers were hoping I'd get in my truck and drive home. However, I started to walk down the sidewalk, so I could walk home when I heard,"Hold on a minute. Let me ask you some questions... Maybe we can get you a ride home." I looked up to see the officer who was speaking, and his partner who already had his taser out. I knew they were going to try and hurt me from their posture.... The police claim I was ready with "balled fists". I can only say, that I didn't ball my fists until after they tazed me, and the only proof I would have in this direction would be... (if you remember the last time I was living in Atlanta, at which time some guys tried to car jack me at gun point... I didn't hit those guys who were threatening my life, so... I why would I hit cops who I knew were just trying to abuse me?). Well, the cop asked me,"Do you know what the Marchman Act is?" I told him I didn't, and that was when the cop grabbed me in an attempt to "stealth arrest me" (i.e. they were going to arrest me without letting me know that was what was up...). I did sticky hands. Which is basically how I react when anyone grabs me without telling me they are grabbing me. "I can't grab him," says the cop. SO... They taze me. I just keep doing sticky hands. They taze me again... Whereupon I find my hand is on the officers belt?!? I feel around. OH, crap, my hand is on his pistol. I didn't intend for my hand to do this... it was a reaction from these people hurting me. I go back to doing sticky hands. From what I am told they tazed me 7-8 times. I had only thought they'd tazed me a couple times seeing the thing in my chest later. I only noticed the weird marks on my back much, much later. So... finally they get me down on the ground and cuff me. The officers had no injuries, and there was no property damage, but they were charging me with 6 FELONIES! This was later dropped down to 4 Felonies. Now, I know I was outta line. I was drunk and obnoxious... However, a cop is suppose to be better than the folks he arrests. It isn't suppose to be about Vendetta when they arrest you. I was just getting to that point in my life where I can be a provider for myfamily, after years and years of college. I was in my last semester in college... I have since graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. However, it is difficult to apply for a Professional job with 4 Felonies hanging over your head. Also, I have since gotten a lawyer who told me it is better to wait to apply for a job because this way I don't get stuck with the court costs (other than paying him), and this is where I have the possibility for justice. If I can delay them, and cost them money... They might give me a fair plea instead of hammer me with felonies. I don't know about you, but I feel it is unfair to destroy someones ability to work in a professional field, all cause they got a little drunk and obnoxious one night. (The only time I've gotten in legal trouble, since being grown up is... vending without a license for selling art in L5p). Which, those who know me... know I don't drink often, and don't go picking fights. The lawyer cost me $6000. I've managed to get him $4000, and am paying the last $2000 off. I'm struggling to accomplish this, and now am in town for an art show. (I am suppose to be doing a book signing in Chicago on labor day...). So... on one level I have all this potential for success, things are... looking up, but... I'm still kind of hanging by a thread... I hate the idea of taking "something for nothing". So would prefer to ask folks to just come to my art show and buy prints, or buy my books, or hire me to do massage (I'm a licensed massage therapist). Or commission a future art piece rather than just give me loot, but... If you want to pay for something and pick it up at the show I can do pay pal. My email for this is: Princeofautumn@yahoo.com
