About Rare Cancers Australia
Rare Cancers Australia (RCA) was founded out of the fundamental principles of equity, fairness and compassion. When someone is dealt the bad luck of a rare or less common cancer diagnosis, they should have equitable experiences and outcomes compared to someone diagnosed with a common cancer.
Rare cancers often come with less expertise and knowledge, fewer treatment options, later diagnosis, poorer survival outcomes, and higher out-of-pocket costs compared to more common cancers. These challenges can make a diagnosis even more overwhelming, and people diagnosed can feel lost or isolated.
RCA exists to redefine cancer support, so no one is left behind or feels alone. Everyone is given the best possible chance to live beyond cancer.
Our dedicated Specialist Cancer Navigators provide unique and tailored support to each patient and their family, including helping understand the health system and treatment options, emotional support, crisis funding and links to financial supports, peer support and support groups.

Who Are the Riders
The participants are 9 novice riders from Bristol Myers Squibb, who have committed themselves to 5 months of intensive training to complete their portion of the ride. Some are cancer survivors; others have witnessed the devastating impact of cancer on friends and family. Their kilometers will help raise funds to fight against cancer by supporting Rare Cancers Australia a member of the Union for International Cancer Control.
