The City Theatre Company
City Theatre is excited to be celebrating its 18th anniversary
season of live theatre entertainment. CTC is an Austin-based,
not-for-profit arts organization and is sponsored in part by the
Austin Creative Alliance and the Cultural Arts Division of the City of
Austin. Founded in 2006, the company has been recognized by the Austin
Critics Table Awards, the B. Iden Payne Awards, the Central Texas
Excellence in Theatre Awards, Central Texas Live Theatre,
BroadwayWorld Austin, and has twice been voted “Best Theatre Company”
by Austin American-Statesman’s Austin 360.
Our Goal:
City Theatre is dedicated in providing a quality, reputable, and
diverse public theatre and stage entertainment experience that is
accessible to all artists and enjoyed by the entire Austin community.
Put a little theatre in your life! During the regular theatre season,
CTC stages productions year-round, showcasing a broad spectrum of hit
plays, classic dramas, original works, popular stage musicals, and
one-of-kind theatrical events. In 2023, live theatre is now back!
City Theatre has hosted – and toasted - some of the first Austin
productions of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, It’s Only a Play,
Picnic, An Ideal Husband, and many others. CTC continues to offer Free
Night of Theatre and the discount ticket program, which has been in
place from the company’s beginning for any social, cultural, and
educational organizations.
OUR NEW HOME AT GENESIS CREATIVE COLLECTIVE
Your Support:
City Theatre is thrilled to be at our new location right in the
heart of Austin! The HOME IS WHERE THE ‘ARTS’ IS
campaign will be used for actor and artist stipends, venue
rental costs, lighting and sound equipment, curtains and seating, and
all production costs, as we renovate and the renew the Genesis church
into a fantastic performing arts venue. The additional funding raised
will help with productions costs for all shows coming up in the 2023 -
2024 season and get The City Theatre Company producing plays for years
to come.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are always welcome for many positions, including box
office and concessions management, house managers and ushers, set
construction and stage crew, and production assistants. Many hands-on
learning opportunities are available for students and interns.
Complimentary seats to all volunteers and production team members with
actor meet-and-greets before and after the show.
