Apply now for a Beaverton's Choice Award!

The Beaverton’s Choice program makes awards on a year-round basis. All District staff, at all locations, are encouraged to create a Beaverton’s Choice campaign of up to$2,500, to support student-engaged projects that enrich learning and encourage classroom innovation in any content area.

 

You will need the following to submit a project:

  • Title | A good title can make your request stand out. Use something short and catchy. 
  • Intro | This will be the introduction to your project and the default message shared on social media. Identify your classroom problem or opportunity, and use a personal tone.
  • Goal | Enter the goal for the project – the amount of money you are trying to raise.
  • Picture | Use a horizontal photo that helps donors connect with the project for maximum benefit.
  • Story | This is where you can go into more detail on your classroom or school project. Please include:
    • WHO - Your school name, number of students and/or grade level(s) served.
    • WHAT - What opportunity do you want to offer your students?
    • WHY - What is the impact? How will this make a difference in your class or school?
    • HOW - Please tell us how you see implementing the project and enter what the funds would be used for.  Like items may be grouped together (i.e. art supplies $100).

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis by the Beaverton's Choice committee. You will be notified via email when to begin promoting and sharing your project. After 45 days online, the committee will review and consider your active sharing in their funding decision.

With the opportunity to accept BEF Beaverton’s Choice funds comes the responsibility of accounting for the use and impact of awarded funds.  The Foundation requires a timely written report on the outcomes of your project.  This information is critical to the Foundation when seeking additional funds for other projects.

The Foundation must receive reports within 30 days of project completion.   (If the project has not been started by June 1st, all funds must be returned to BEF, or a letter of request for an extension must be submitted.)

By clicking 'accept' below, you agree to:

  1. Submit a completion report within 30 days of finishing the project.

  2. Account for all grant funds by providing receipts.

  3. Return unexpended funds of more than $10 to BEF.

  4. Label all books and equipment purchased with these funds with the stickers supplied by BEF which say, “Provided by a grant from the Beaverton Education Foundation."

  5. Send a few of your best electronic photos to info@beavertonEDfoundation.org, of your students participating in the project, as well as quotes from students, parents and/or staff members for possible publication in our newsletters, Facebook, and website. Thank you.
