Meet the students of Panyadoli Secondary School, located in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement in Uganda. There are about 1300 students who attend the school daily, and their favorite club is the peace club. Many of the children call the school their home after being displaced as a result of violence and genocide . Currently the school does not have access to clean water. Students must leave school grounds and walk miles in potentially unsafe situations to retrieve water.
A well on the school campus will allow students to focus more on their studies in a healthy environment. Over the past 6 years, World Peace and Reconciliation (WP&R) has installed solar panels, provided computers, supplied internet access, and constructed a Center for Peace Studies.
Our involvement in this community is a lifetime partnership. We are working alongside teachers, peace education facilitators, local community based organizations, artists, activists and universities to make this mission a success.
On December 12, 2017 we officially launched our Clean Water Project and Peace Education Initiative. This campaign will bring more wells, water filtration, supplies, books, computers, solar panels, student sponsorship opportunities, workshops for teachers and students and more to Panyadoli Secondary School and the community in Kiryandongo. One hundred percent of your contribution will be personally delivered by us in early 2018.
In the meantime our focus is to install a well on site by the new year. The good news is that we are halfway there! We only need $4,000 for installation and maintenance education. We discuss lessons after each game that reaffirm what we just learned while students also relate to one another. In exchange you will receive a fun video of a great big energetic thank you from students after class and the same workshop, great with friends, family or co-workers. This amount pays for Andriana’s flight, accommodations, food, printed materials and instruction videos for teachers and students.
