David Lewis hasn't added a story.
This is a story of what can happen.
Here is what happened: Tyler Harrell, an 18 years old High School senior, with no previous criminal record, has been jailed since April 14th, 2016 for defending his mother during a home invasion. Tyler is a high school student who lives at home with his parents in a nice middle-class home in north Austin, Texas. Astonishingly, the invasion that Tyler was defending his home against, was from the Police, who busted in unannounced. The Police were acting on an “anonymous" tip, and caused the SWAT team to deploy and bust into and destroy his home, kill his 10 year old dog, and threaten his mother's life and limb. Tyler did what every American is taught to do: get your gun and fight back when intruders invade your home. Tyler beat back the home invasion, engaging the unknown intruders by firing his assault rifle in defense of his mother who had fallen to the ground during the home invasion and was in danger. But Tyler had no idea it was the Police. The "raid" occurred at 5:30 a.m., just before sunrise. Neighbors all agree that the SWAT team did not announce their presence until several minutes after their attempted breach failed. All this was about 1 ounce of marijuana that was recovered. There were other safer options, however, the Police chose to commit this dangerous Rambo-style invasion at daybreak. Even Neighbors were endangered by the reckless Police activities. Tyler is a legal gun owner, who successfully protected his home from unannounced outside invaders who did not announce "Police" until after instigating a dangerous firefight. If you believe in the Bill of Rights and a citizen's right to bear arms under the 2nd Amendment, and if you believe that you should be free from unreasonable government invasions of your home, the type barred under the 4th amendment, then please help us defend Tyler against this type of abusive behavior by law enforcement. The practice of violent “no knock” warrants that have become almost standard practice across the US landscape must be curtailed.
