As a small kitten Riley was found on the side of the road by a Good Samaritan in July of 2014. He was barely alive with half of his face punctured and shredded by a racoon or tom cat. The Langley Animal Protection Society rushed him to Mountain View Veterinary Clinic | Langley, BC. After surgery and multiple rounds of antibiotics he seemed to recover.

On August 7th of 2014 we were fortunate enough to adopt Riley. He is an amazing little guy so full of life and he settled into our family right away.

On August 27th our whole family was diagnosed with Ringworm, this fungal infection is not uncommon in young cats especially when they live on the streets. In the middle of Ringworm treatment an odd thing happened. Riley suddenly grew a hard lump in the center of his forehead. After a visit to Dr. Ferguson at Mountain View we learned it was an abscess from his initial trauma.

Since his original diagnoses of an abscess on September 16 2014 Riley has had 4 lancings and 1 surgery to try and drain his abscess.

During his most recent surgery on November 25th Dr. Ferguson discovered a small hole in his skull and that the infection was far worse than we had hoped or expected.

On Dec 9th Riley had a CT scan, the Dr was able to determine that Riley's sinus on his previously injured side is full of infection. The Dr does not believe Riley can overcome his infection with out surgery.

Riley is a lovable amazing guy, you would never know he has such a serious infection. With proper care and surgery Riley has an excellent chance at a long and healthy life. We need help to able to afford Riley's surgery.
