Kahlua came to DRSF as a stray after being found in a very difficult situation in that he had been trapped between a wall and a locked gate for long enough to be compeltely emaciated.  A good samaritan found him and was considering keeping him until she realized he was exhibiting some curious behavior that would not work in her household.

Kahlua came to DRSF at the beginning of September and as many of our dogs do, he had some behavioral issues that we thought would settle out after he got settled in, but that was not the case.

His condition has progressed and gotten odder and odder....almost like doxie OCD, chewing his tail, acting oddly, that we decided to consult Dr. Wong at Southeast Veterinary neurology to attemt to determine if his behavior is emotional or neurological.

Dr. Wong takes the recommending of an MRI very seriously as it is used almost solely for diagnosiing and lcoating IVDD and after meeting with Kalhua, Dr. Wong found his behavior curious enough that he recommends moving to the MRI to diagnose if Kaluah's behavior is being caused by a neurological issue. In the 6 years we have worked with Dr. Wong, this is the 2nd time he has recommended an MRI outside of IVDD surgery.  We want to be able to give Kalhua every chance we can to find the family of his dreams and this is our best shot to determine what is causing him to behave the way that he is.

We know this one is going to be tough as he does not look sick, or have an injury that can be seen, but we hope that  you will feel the same way that we do and that he is worth it <3

Would you consider a donation of any size to his care?  Even if you can't donate, we invite you to share his story or leave him a message of love and support too!
