In February 2013, our dear friend Rob was diagnosed with a Stage IV brain tumour and given 4 months to live. The only 'treatment' option at the time was palliative care. Rob refused to accept his doctor's timeline and has been fighting for his life ever since. Today, Rob needs your help to raise $7500 CDN (£4000 GBP) to get an emergency MRI and Cat Scan done here in his native Northern Ireland.

Rob's brain tumour was deemed inoperable by surgeons in the UK, however, a doctor at Johns Hopkins believes he can remove Rob's tumour. Rob is fighting for his life and was scheduled to fly to the USA on Monday, September 15th to meet with the surgeon the next day, however, recent blood work indicates Rob may not be eligable for the surgery due to possible cancer growth. He cannot know this for sure without the following tests (these are the only ones Rob has informed me of to date):

  • Kidney & liver funcation ultrasounds
  • Pre and Post GAD MRI's (contrast agents)
  • Cystoscopy (for possible cancer spread to bladder)
  • Biopsy depending on resutls from Cystoscopy
  • Lumbar puncture

With the health care system in the UK, Rob has to wait up to 6 weeks to receive his appointments. Unfortunately, Rob's time is limited and each day that goes by his cancer is growing, which is why we are fundraising for him to have the tests done privately and immediately. The sooner he gets these tests done, the sooner he knows if he's still a candidate for the surgery in the USA.

Please support Rob by donating to cover the costs of these tests.
