In March I am planning to walk the 166 miles from Paris to London (actually it's 240 miles but, great as I am, I can't walk across the Channel) to raise money for the Happy Africa Foundation.

The foundation support hospitals and orphanages across Africa allowing them to help some of the most vulnerable children and adults.

When you go to these orphanages and hospitals you expect to see poverty and deprivaton.  When you do you console yourself with the thought that - at least you're here and you're doing something.  When you come home you have to come to terms with the fact that those problems are still there, but you aren't, and you can't help anymore - this is the only way I can help now - but I need your help!

Every penny you give will be spend it in its entirety on children and adults who really do need help, a few examples are:

The Limuru Childrens' Centre & Baby Home and The Body of Christ Orphanage- both of whom provide food, shelter and schooling to children of all ages who have been either given up by their parents or who's parents have died (most usually of HIV).  It may be a cliche but these kids are truely inspiring, they have nothing more than the donated clothes they're standing in however they are quite simply the happiest and most friendly children I have ever met - but don't let their happiness fool you into thinking they're not in need of help.

Karuri Health Centre - a small health facility which provides essential medical care to the poorest people of the community.  The outpatients, antinatal, maternity, paediatric and family planning services it provides are quite simply saving lives every day.  Without this hospital the people would have no access to any kind of quality healthcare - they really do need our help to carry on.

Please give whatever you can - you really will make a difference I promise!
