Hi friends, our non-profit org helping women survivors of domestic and sexual violence in the Arabian Gulf, needs a little more start up funding (about $2,800) to continue helping these women!

.... Women's Crisis Care International, our non-profit organization, is in need of a little more start-up funding. First, please take a look at our website to learn about some of our exciting and ground breaking work throughout the Arabian Gulf.

A few countries in the Gulf are extremely progressive places, that are open to new programming and are very supportive of women's rights. However, many barriers still exist in the protection of women from domestic and sexual violence, in what can be very conservative and oppresive Middle Eastern cultures. Around the world, 1 in 3 women will face domestic abuse or rape at some point in thier lives!THAT'S CRAZY! (source: UNwomen)

There are very few programs here that focus on helping survivors of domestic violence or rape. Nor are there any substantial educational or training programs for local community members and organizations about prevention of, or response to violence against women.

Overall however, its clear to me that Bahrain is a country that will embrace a progressive and enlightened way of protecting women and girls from this terrible type of violence, and will jump on board with this work. They already have in many ways! Most of the legistlation here in Bahrain legally protects women. However, we must increase actual programming and proper education around this issue in order to truly effect a positive change for women and girls, working through individuals, families, and communities.

At this point, however, we still need a little more start-up funding. Before we hit up some of the "big guns" here in Bahrain for overall program funding. So below is a list of items, and their costs, which we currently need.

(Please note: As soon as our 501 C 3 tax exempt status is finalized (it is currently pending but on hold due to the application filing fee) your donation will be a TAX WRITE OFF! I will contact every donor for thier tax exempt write off documentation as soon as our application is approved.)

1. Program literature: $600 (Already designed, but need to print, see attachment.)

2. Program office supplies: $500

3. Improved website: $400

4. Mobile application development: $500 (we have some amazing ideas for Arabic/Muslim versions of DV and rape protection mobile phone apps!)

4. 501 C 3  - IRS Tax Exempt Status Application fee: $850

Total program need: $2850.00

Your support here would not only mean  the world to me, but it will literally be helping to lead the way in   protecting women who are being beaten and raped in the Middle East.

Thank you for your time and consideration on behalf of your friends, your sisters, your neighbors, your neices, your mothers and all the other women in the world facing this issue and finally.... thank you from me, with extreme gratitude!

Peace and Love,

Mary-Justine Todd
