I am the Deputy Leader in a team of 4 adults who are taking a contingent of 36 Explorer Scouts from West Yorkshire to the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan.

The Jamboree is one of (if not) the largest gatherings of young people to take place around the world.  They are held every 4 years and see 35,000+ scouts from over 100 countries gather to promote world peace and learn about different cultures.  Attendance at these events see the teenagers return as young adults, their views on life and the world they live in will be changed forever.

To get to the event each Explorer Scout and Leader need to raise £3400.  Some of this money also helps support Scouts from poorer nations who would otherwise be unable to share in the unique experience.

In 1998, as a Scout myself I was chosen to represent West Yorkshire at the 19th World Scout Jamboree in Chile.  From that day I have wanted to give back my experiences to a contingent at a future Jamboree.

Please help me to raise my fee to enable me to help 36 people from around West Yorkshire gain as much as possible from this once in a lifetime, life changing adventure.

Many thanks for your support, no matter how big or small.

Steven Eastwood
