Wendys cancer is back. It all started in October when she went in to have a mass removed from the breast where the first cancer was located. All doctors believed that it was just scar tissue, so the plastic surgeon removed it and sent it to pathology. To everyones surprise, it was cancer. This quick recurrence of cancer is very concerning to all.

UT Southwestern has reviewed the pathology slides and reports from the first (Dec.2012) and second (Nov. 2013) biopsies and they are all in agreement. Both were/are HER2-negitive, but right on the boarderline of being positive. For those who don't know, a HER2 positive cancer is more aggressive than a negative cell. The first treatment followed the protocol for a HER2 negitive cell and this treatment will follow the protocol for HER2 positve and will hopefully show signs of removing the cancer for good.

Wendy has undergone other tests and seen many doctors. A PET scan revealed that in addition to the to the cancer in her left breast, there are nodes under her left arm, one at her neck and two tiny spots in her lungs. This new treatment plan over the next year, should take care of all of this, then we move on too radiation treatment and surgery.

Wendy is a self-employed widow and mother of two beautiful, intelligent, and tallented children,Ashton and Brinley .

She would never ask for your help, even while going through the expensive and draining treatment processes - she will only ask you how she could be a help to you.

Please keep the always positive and always smiling Wendy in your thoughts and prayers.

Any and all help would be a gift to her and her family.
