Promise Acres Equine Rescue is a private famly owned rescue that has been in operation for 11 years.  In those years they have helped to place 62 horses and have sent 19 over the rainbow bridge to end their suffering. As we all know the cost of operating a rescue is extensive and the Carnahan family has sacrificed much in order to be able to assist the horses that entered their care. 87% of the costs of the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of the horses has come solely from the Carnahan families own pockets with the remainder being collected at events, in donation, and adoption fees. A few months ago the Carnahan family recieved devestating news as Richard Carnahan (Jennifer's husband) was diagnosed with a genetic and aggressive form of ALS. When this news was given they had to make a difficult choice to suspend operation of the rescue indefinetly (all horses have been placed into appropriate homes).  As many can imagine their focus now needs to be on family and their incomes need to go towards providing for their family and for Richards care. He has to make frequent trips to Miami to the ALS Reearch Clinic and will have needs as home as well. The rescue has an outstanding debt of $3188.-- (not including ongoing expenses such as insurance, horse care for those still recieving treatment or foster, and other misc. general operating expenses). Our goal is to help the rescue pay off the current debt so that this is not a burden to the Carnahan family during what is sure to be a difficult time. Donations are tax deductible and are much apprecated. Thank you for considering helping a family who has generously assisted so many horses in need.
