Tammy Pratt hasn't added a story.
Sara is a one year old beautiful Torti Calico cat with a mystery illness that will kill her without proper Veterinarian Care and Support. I will do everything in my power to prevent this unless and until she “tells me” differently...
.
This is Sara’s story:
I learned of this cat at my dentist’s office of all places! During the appointment we talked about many things, one being a stray cat that was roaming around her apt complex. I am an animal lover, and most especially one of cats. I gave the dentist some names and numbers of local no kill shelters and told her to contact me if she couldn’t place her. My dentist texted me the very next day to tell me another individual had taken the cat to the Humane Society!
I believe that sometimes people and animals come into your life for reasons, and you into theirs. That being said, the universe had been very kind to me that week in many ways, finding a truly patient and kind dentist was amongst them. I wanted to pay that forward. After many texts and pictures between my dentist and me, I found the beautiful scared mystery cat at the Shelter and soon adopted her.
I named her Sara after the Fleetwood Mac song and because of Stevie, my dentist, who connected us, and “Bright Eyes” because she has the most beautiful bright green eyes---- especially for one so apparently traumatized and so ill.
Sara came home Dec. 16th and did not eat for days. At first, I thought it was a normal response to the anesthesia she’d had at the shelter and the stress of her recent experiences, but soon after I brought her to the Vet and have been syringe feeding her and medicating her ever since. We had our second Vet appointment today and sadly Sara is no better. She has very bad Jaundice and her liver is declining. We have been systematically eliminating causes and illnesses while focusing on the immediate symptoms. Unfortunately, it is very costly.
Thankfully, the Humane Society does gift an adopter with one free exam to a vet of their choosing and 45 days of free pet insurance. BUT we have used that up, the limit, and one has to pay the Vet first after each visit and then wait to get reimbursed by the insurance company, if approved. I have spent $400.00 all ready and haven’t had any reimbursement yet. I have depleted my expendable resources at this point but not my love and hope <3
The liver CAN regenerate and if the underlying cause is found and is treatable/cured, this darling sweet girl that has had such a rough start in life could go on to live a very happy healthy long life! And THAT is what I am asking YOU to help me to do. A year on the planet is too short! Won’t you please help us? No donation is too small and will be greatly appreciated and used to save my Sara “Bright Eyes” Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information.
Sincerely Tammy
